For Women Veterans Day, we give special thanks to the brave women of the 6888th Central Postal Battalion, a special branch within the Women’s Army Corps (WAC). On July 1st, 1943, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed into law the Women’s Army Corps (WAC) of the United States. The WAC came from the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps, which had been created a year earlier but did not have official military status.
