It's an almost unmatched masterclass of FPS design that asks all the right things from the player and offer a lot in return. 2016 is less focused and not as accomplished in terms of mechanics, but it's a extraordinarily fun game that might appeal more for people who thinks Eternal is too demanding.

Like, Doom 1, 2, 64, 2016 were all pretty much just running around with a shotgun blasting demons (unless you chose a higher difficulty). Eternal seems to go in a different direction, which is fine, but even when Doom was new it wasn't considered some hardcore game.

Sep 28, 2020 · So im trying to make my way through doom eternal on nightmare in 4k HDR on my tv using a gamepad instead of keyboard and mouse due to how close the tv is. Its fucking impossible. You need quick reaction time to hit weak points and the gamepad just doesn't do the job at all. Not to mention switching weapons quickly to do combos.
