With both sides set to return to negotiations on Tuesday, residents and local businesses are left to navigate the growing pile of waste.
For those with immediate disposal needs, free drop-offs of bagged trash are available with proof of residency at the Republic Services Transfer Station, Gate No. 5, located at 17121 Nichols Lane. Trash can be dropped off there from Monday through Saturday, 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
West Contra Costa County residents can also continue to bring four bags of trash to the Golden Bear Transfer Station at no charge with proof of residency, Gioia said. This service is available Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. or Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
