The Horned Frogs dominated the game for almost three quarters, leading 28-7 and 31-13 at different points in the second half, but somehow TCU let KJ Jefferson and Central Florida outscore them 22-3 in a span of about 20 minutes of game time. It left a half-empty Amon G. Carter Stadium stunned as a statement win turned into an alarming loss.

The Knights moved to 3-0 as RJ Harvey rushed for 180 yards and two scores and KJ Jefferson threw for 230 with three touchdowns.

With 3:23 remaining in the game, the Knights had turned a 18-point deficit into a 34-28 nail biter and UCF had an opportunity to take the lead for good after forcing a three-and-out against TCU’s offense. It was a major crossroads for TCU’s new defense which had played well in the first half, but punished by UCF’s run game in the second half.

UCF rallied from 21 points down in the second half to beat TCU, with coach Gus Malzahn later calling it the best win in his four seasons leading the Knights.
