Google is testing a new “Daily Listen” feature that automatically generates a podcast based on your Discover feed. The company confirmed to TechCrunch that Daily Listen is a personalized AI-powered audio experience that is designed to help you stay up to date on the topics you care about.

Listen, a podcast hosted by two AI chatbots will discuss topics based on your search and Discover activities on Google.

Google is testing an experimental AI feature that creates a personalized podcast using your Search and Discover feed history. The Daily Listen feature in Google’s Search Labs is rolling out to Android and iOS users in the US according to 9to5Google, and works similarly to the Audio Overviews feature for Google’s NotebookLM project.

Listen can create a podcast episode around 5 minutes in length that you can listen to for an overview on the latest about the topics you typically follow. You will have to opt into Search Labs if this is something you'd like to try by tapping on the flask icon at the top left of the Google app.

Listen" turns your Discover feed into a personalized 5-minute podcast, offering an audio update on your favorite topics with easy controls.

Following Notebook LM's personalized Audio Overview in Spotify Wrapped 2024, Google now wants to turn your Discover feed into a podcast.
