For just the second time this century, the New York Knicks are in the Eastern Conference finals. The Knicks defeated the Boston Celtics in Game 5 on Wednesday, winning the series 4-1. New York won the first two games of the series and a key Game 4 to set up its decisive victory.

The New York Knicks routed the Boston Celtics, 119-81, Friday to close out the second-round series and secure an appearance in the Eastern Conference finals—the franchise's first in 25 years. The Indiana Pacers are waiting in the next round, ironically the same team the Knicks played in their last Eastern Conference finals appearance back in 2000.

Awful shooting by the Celtics, combined with little to no energy from the team across the board, up against a ramped up Knicks squad at Madison Square Garden, and New York put them in a stranglehold. Boston shot 36% from the field and 29% from 3-point range, putting a nail in their own coffin as the Knicks advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.
