Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai flogged himself six times Friday morning to begin a protest against the ruling DMK, over the Anna University incident and to ensure the party is defeated in the 2026 election.

BJP leader Annamalai protested against the Tamil Nadu government by whipping himself, citing ongoing injustices. He vowed to fast for 48 days and not wear footwear until the ruling party is removed.

K Annamalai in protest against the sexual harassment case in Anna University criticised the DMK government and said that he will not be wearing slippers until justice is served.

Calling the DMK an “evil force,” Annamalai urged the middle class to rise and question the government. He demanded the sacking of the Chennai city police commissioner or at least the deputy commissioner over the Anna University case.
