The Biden administration is awarding $3 billion to U.S. companies to boost domestic production of advanced batteries and other materials used for electric vehicles, part of a continuing push to reduce China’s global dominance in battery production.

The $3 Billion financial grants will fund 25 projects in 14 states, including election battleground states such as Michigan and North Carolina.

The federal government is set to grant $200 million to Group14 Technologies to build a factory in Moses Lake that will help produce ingredients for next-generation batteries expected to, among other things, power electric cars to travel long distances between charges.
