Advocates with Housekeys Action Network Denver (HAND) say the city's shelters need to add capacity, transportation options and clearer information for advocates and people living on the street.

Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas and Sarasota counties are opening their cold weather shelters on Monday and Tuesday.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Cold weather shelters are opening across the Midlands for those in need of a warm place to stay amid frigid temperatures and a possible wintry mix later this week. Here's when and where they're opening.

Volusia will open a shelter Monday through Wednesday, too. Temperatures are expected to dive into the mid-30s.

A Cold Weather Advisory is currently in effect through Tuesday. The forecast includes wind chills as low as 16-20 degrees.

For many in Denver and eastern Colorado, the coldest low temperatures in nearly a year are on the way. The forecasted low for Denver should drop close to 7 degrees.

Clouds will continue to clear out Tuesday night. This will aid in a rapid drop in temperatures down to the single digits, according to FOX31 Pinpoint Weather Chief Meteorologist Dave Fraser.

As the snow ends in the metro, temperatures will stay below freezing and dip into the single digits overnight.
