Storm Éowyn slams Ireland, parts of U.K. with record winds
Met Éireann, the Republic of Ireland's national meteorological service, said that the country had faced wind gusts of 114mph in County Galway– the highest recorded wind speeds ever recorded on the island.
Yellow warnings take effect in aftermath of Storm Éowyn
A Yellow wind warning is due to come into effect at 11am today for Donegal, Leitrim, Sligo, Louth and Meath, and is valid until 6pm this evening. An additional Yellow wind warning has been issued for Waterford, Cork and Kerry from 11pm tonight until 6am tomorrow.
