Ahead of making his debut as the Man of Steel, Superman star David Corenswet turned to two fellow Kryptonians for guidance — and got some eerily similar advice from them both.

James Gunn’s “Superman” is flying into theaters this month with David Corenswet in the title role and Nicholas Hoult as the villainous Lex Luthor. But that wasn’t the role Hoult auditioned for. The “Nosferatu” and “X-Men” star originally sought the role of Superman but lost out to Corenswet in auditions.

David Corenswet revealed that he spoke with former Superman stars Henry Cavill and Tyler Hoechlin to prepare for the role.
