But dramatic footage of a quake damaging a busy roundabout that spread globally online and appeared in a Thai television report does not show the recent disaster.

The video is miscaptioned. It doesn't show the Jan. 7 earthquake that hit the western China region. It shows an earthquake that struck Japan in 2024.
