The Batman fandom might be heading into an strange crossroads. The report has surfaced again that DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn has reportedly expressed interest in bringing Robert Pattinson' s Batman into the larger DC Universe (DCU).

Turns out, that The Batman: Part II, originally expected to be released in 2026, has now been pushed back a whole year. The new release date is Oct. 1, 2027.

And just like that, we went from Batman surpluses to deficits. But maybe that’s only natural. Why the Dark Knight dry spell? Who knows. Scripts take time to finesse, scheduling matters happen, etc. Maybe this frees Reeves up for season 2 of The Penguin?
