The Food and Drug Administration cleared a new kind of test for Alzheimer’s disease designed to be more accessible and less risky for patients with cognitive decline.

The FDA has approved the first blood test to help detect Alzheimer’s disease. Developed by Fujirebio Diagnostics, the Lumipulse test can identify brain amyloid plaques using a simple blood sample.
