'Ways to go' in Storm Éowyn clean up, NI Secretary says
There is still a "way to go" in the clean-up of Storm Éowyn, the Northern Ireland Secretary has said. Homes have been damaged and about 60,000 properties in Northern Ireland remain without power for a fourth day after high winds battered the UK and Ireland last week.

The clear-up operation is continuing after Storm Éowyn caused chaos across Northern Ireland on Friday. It brought winds of more than 90mph and, at the peak, left 30% of homes and businesses without power.

Thousands of homes remain without power and travel disruption is continuing in Scotland in the aftermath of Storm Eowyn, which swept across the country on Friday. SP Energy Networks said its engineers had worked through the night to restore power to homes after winds of up to 100mph caused “extensive damage” to the electricity network.
Thousands still without power after Storm Éowyn
About 1,500 properties in Cumbria and 2,381 throughout the North East still have no electricity. Electricity North West said at the height of the storm, 105,000 people were off-supply while Northern Powergrid said on Sunday it has restored power to 97% of customers.
