President Trump took the oath of office, administered by Chief Justice John Roberts, without his hand on his bible. However, the Constitution doesn’t specify that a bible must be used—simply that the oath must be recited.

President Donald Trump did not place his hand on the Bible as he took the oath of office during his inauguration on Monday. First lady Melania Trump stood next to the president holding two Bibles, but the 47th president of the United States didn't place his hand on either as he raised his right hand to take the presidential oath,

“As a result of President Trump’s efforts,” it read, in part, “TikTok is back in the U.S.”

The dollar extended its slide while crude prices curtailed their losses after U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday he would tariff and tax countries to enrich Americans, overhaul the trade system and declare a national energy emergency.
