More than 100,000 people have been evacuated after deadly wildfires took at least five lives in Los Angeles. The number of wildfires across California now stands at six, with thousands of homes destroyed by the blazes dubbed “The Sunset Fire”.

Los Angeles firefighters said no homes burned from the Sunset fire, which occurred near Runyon Canyon and sparked a momentary evacuation order for Hollywood and the Hollywood Hills.

The Los Angeles wildfires triggered by dry ‘hurricane-like’ strong winds started on Tuesday and have killed five people so far, burnt down hundreds of houses, and led to thousands, including celebrities,
