Tropical system could develop in Caribbean this weekend
Channel 9 meteorologists are monitoring several active tropical systems. One area being watched could develop this weekend in the Western Caribbean. The area could then drift north and into the Gulf of Mexico.

We will see a mix of partly to mostly cloudy skies today with scattered showers and storms building in. Rain chances will be higher in North Carolina and lower in Virginia.
Tropical System Nearing The Carolina Coasts
The National Hurricane Center has issued tropical storm warnings ahead of a system bearing down on the North Carolina and South Carolina coasts. Heavy rain, strong winds, flooding, surge and isolated tornadoes will all be concerns.
