The first episode of World Wrestling Entertainment's “Monday Night RAW” on Netflix had 4.9 million views globally and averaged 2.6 million households in the U.S., according to VideoAmp. Monday's three-hour show from the Intuit Dome outside of Los Angeles kicked off WWE’s 10-year partnership with Netflix.

With the move of Monday Night Raw to Netflix, WWE executives believed it would be able to expand its viewership globally. One show in and the results indicate a big day for the show's debut on the streaming service.

WWE Raw’s Netflix debut did not disappoint as a live event spectacular, but its decision to book a one-off standalone show meant a missed opportunity to hook casual fans.
