The Senate quickly confirmed Marco Rubio as secretary of state Monday, voting unanimously to give President Donald Trump the first member of his new Cabinet on Inauguration Day.
"Mr. Hegseth categorically denies every word of every allegation,” a Hegseth aide said in a statement provided to the Washington Examiner.
She said she first relayed her allegations to the FBI in December but was concerned that the information was not shared with Congress.
The nominee can only afford to lose three GOP senators if Democrats unite against him so attention could now shift to Maine Republican Sen. Susan Collins and other potential swing votes.
