Washington — Former Vice President Kamala Harris writes that former President Joe Biden's decision to run again was a choice that shouldn't have "been left to an individuals' ego, an individual's ambition," according to excerpts of her upcoming book, "107 Days," published Wednesday in The Atlantic .

But Trump’s penchant for rewriting recent history notwithstanding, his win over Kamala Harris was actually quite narrow, at least as far as the popular vote was concerned. The Republican finished with 49.8% of the vote in 2024 to Harris’ 48.3% — the closest American presidential race of the 21st century and the fourth-closest since 1900.

Maddow announced on her show on Monday that the interview will take place on Sept. 22, with Harris live on set for the 9 p.m. ET show. Harris is embarking on a tour for her new book, 107 Days, an account of her truncated presidential election campaign last year.
