The Sacramento Police Department is looking for a man accused in the shooting death of a 20-year-old woman, authorities said Monday. Officers were called Feb. 25 to apartments on the 4000 block of Taylor Street in the Robla section of North Sacramento after a woman was found dead, police said previously.

A 19-year-old who told police he was pursuing a hit-and-run driver barrelled through a crowd of people, injuring two, California cops reported. Brian Barbatajimaroa faces four charges of assault with a deadly weapon in the incident that occurred Saturday, March 1, the Redwood City Police Department said in a news release.

The February crash was a reminder of how dangerous high-speed pursuits can be to the public. At least 30% of police vehicle chases include collisions, and up to nearly one-fifth bring injuries or deaths, according to research cited in a federally funded study.
