South Carolina women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley is no stranger to awards and honors. On Thursday, she added a big one to her resume. FIBA (the Federation of International Basketball) announced that Staley had been chosen for induction into the FIBA Hall of Fame class of 2025.

Spanish basketball legend Pau Gasol, American Olympic gold medal-winning player and coach Dawn Staley, and Mike 'Coach K' Krzyzewski are among the "Class of 2025" named to join the FIBA Hall of Fame. The governing body for the sport announced the nine inductees on Thursday (16 January).
“Staley won a total of 10 gold medals as an athlete, before transitioning to the sidelines. As the head coach, Staley steered the USA to gold at the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2018 and at the 2020 Olympic Games,” the institution wrote in its release.

Former Spanish player and world basketball legend, Pau Gasol, has been chosen as one of the names to enter the next FIBA Hall of Fame in 2025. He is joined on the list of those selected by former player Dawn Staley and former Duke University and Team USA coach Mike Krzyzewski.
