Kyōgo Furuhashi left Celtic to move to a bigger league, joining Ligue 1 side Rennes, but it might have been a mistake.
Kyogo Furuhashi insists he is happy at Rennes despite his disastrous move from Celtic and believes he can play until he is 35. The Japanese ace completed a surprise £10 million transfer from the Hoops at the end of the January window to the French side.
In an interview back in Japan, Kyogo has spoken about how he really felt about being snubbed by his country because he played his football in Scotland with Celtic. Kyogo was omitted from many Japan squads over his time in Scotland but it was the World Cup announcement whilst at Celtic that really stung the former Parkhead favourite.

“It’s easier now to say that,” said Hartson about Maeda now being the main man for Celtic after Kyogo left. “We weren’t quite aware when we sold Kyogo and there were a few questions asked. But the simple fact is that Maeda has been terrific since he has been sold to Rennes.
However, since departing for Ligue 1, Furuhashi's absence has rarely been felt, with his Japanese international teammate Daizen Maeda - who has mostly been used out wide in his three years at Celtic - stepping up as a pivotal player unleashed through the middle.
