Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said at least four people were killed in overnight strikes by Russia, with Kyiv the primary target, and dozens were wounded, including children and a pregnant woman.

Nine people were hospitalized, including a pregnant woman, after a series of powerful explosions sounded in the city and airs defenses were activated.

Russia has launched a massive aerial attack on Kyiv, firing more than 400 attack drones, according to Ukraine’s military. Authorities say at least four people were killed, nearly two dozen injured and homes and businesses destroyed.

Russia unleashed a major missile and drone barrage on Kyiv early Friday, killing six people, starting fires and scattering debris as the sound of explosions boomed across the city, Ukrainian authorities said.

Almost every district in Kyiv came under “massive” attack on Friday morning, the Ukrainian capital’s mayor said, with one death reported and 30 residential buildings damaged across the city. Russia, which launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022,
