Slaggert put the Blackhawks ahead 2-1 at 18:14 with a snap shot from the top of the left circle off a drop pass from Lukas Reichel. Slaggert was playing his first NHL game of the season, having been recalled from Rockford of the American Hockey League on Sunday.

There was just under two minutes left in the period when Slaggert scored and they took that 2-1 lead into the third. There, Ryan Donato scored one off a Seth Jones shot that bounced right to him off the end board. Once Teuvo Teravainen made it 4-1 with an empty netter, the game was sealed.

Landon Slaggert scored the go-ahead goal in his season debut as the Chicago Blackhawks opened a three-game Eastern Conference road trip with a 4-1 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday night.
