"Monster" Ryan Wellings has been jailed for domestic abuse following the suicide of his girlfriend Kiena Dawes, and now it has emerged that he has a new girlfriend

Vile thug Ryan Wellings left his fiancée Kiena Dawes feeling like there was nowhere left to turn - but now, he will be the one to suffer behind bars with a 'fraught' future ahead

During a six-week trial, Preston Crown Court heard how Dawes, 23, endured heartbreaking abuse over a two-year period. A juruy was told how Kiena was found dead on a railway track near Garstang, Lancashire, in July 2022.

During the trial the jury heard Ms Dawes, a 23-year-old hairdresser, from Fleetwood in Lancashire, left a note saying "I was murdered" and that Wellings had "killed [her]" before taking her own life on 22 July 2022.

Wellings was convicted of the crimes that took place over a two-year period by the jury on Monday following a six-week trial at Preston Crown Court.

Wellings, 30, was acquitted of manslaughter by the jury at Preston Crown Court. Handing down the sentence, The Honorary Recorder of Preston, Judge Robert Altham, said Wellings was 'a clear danger to any future partner'. Wellings showed no emotion throughout the sentence hearing or when he was led away to the cells.
