Defense ministers from from nine eastern European nations urged NATO to prepare a “collective answer” to mounting cases of airspace violations by Russia among nations bordering Ukraine.

NATO must take "robust coordinated" measures in response to incidents where Russian missiles or drones launched by Ukraine invade the alliance's airspace, according to Romanian Defense Minister Angel Tîlvăr.

Earlier this month, NATO states Romania and Latvia saw Russian drones crash after breaching their airspace, prompting official calls for measures to act jointly to counter Russia air incursions.

Romanian Defence Minister Angel Tîlvăr says the countries of the Bucharest Nine (B9) "are deeply concerned" by numerous instances of Russian drones and missiles entering the Alliance's airspace and a "decisive" response from NATO is required.
