Kia is setting January 15th as the date its electric vehicles will get access to “more than 16,500” Tesla Superchargers. Kia will provide free NACS adapters to people who got their EV9 or EV6 after September 4th, 2024, but all existing owners will have to pay an as-yet unspecified amount.

The move will increase the number of DC fast charging stations available to Kia EV owners by over 83 percent - but only for the EV6 and EV9 SUVs.

EV owners of GM vehicles like the Chevrolet Silverado EV and Cadillac Lyriq will now officially have access to Tesla’s Superchargers.

Since Tesla's NACS (North American Charging Standard) connection was made into a standard, other EV companies have been rushing to get an adapter out into the world so that their customers can use the various Supercharger locations available around the US.

Customers who take delivery of a 2024 or 2025 Kia EV9 or a 2024 Kia EV6 from Sept. 4, 2024, will receive a free NACS adapter. All other Kia EV owners—including EV6 and EV9 owners who took delivery of their vehicles before the cutoff date, as well as all Kia Niro EV owners—will have to pay an undisclosed price for their adapters.

GM's NACS adapter is compatible with all of its EVs, which now gain access to nearly 18,000 Tesla Superchargers. The adapter costs $225 and can be purchased through the mobile app for each respective GM brand.

Ford triggered a transformation when the U.S. automaker locked in a deal to give owners of its EVs access to the Tesla Supercharger network. EV owners of GM vehicles like the Chevrolet Silverado EV and Cadillac Lyriq will now officially have access to Tesla’s Superchargers.

General Motors (GM) and Tesla have opened over 17,800 superchargers in the United States and Canada for GM electric vehicle owners, including Chevy, GMC, and Cadillac.
