Tight end Mason Mini announced his commitment to transfer to the Spartans via social media. The 6-foot-5, 240-pound product of California played for Idaho in the Division I Football Championship Subdivision the past two seasons. He has three years of eligibility remaining.

Michigan State is adding another experienced linebacker from the portal. Former BYU redshirt sophomore linebacker Aisea Moa announced his transfer commitment to the Spartans via social media on Monday.

Michigan State currently is set to bring in 12 transfers via the portal. The Spartans filled key needs with players of quality who were productive at their prior schools.

Jordon Simmons was a member of Michigan State’s 2020 recruiting class, the last of Mark Dantonio’s tenure, but was retained when Mel Tucker got to campus. Simmons then spent the next four seasons in East Lansing, before transferring to Akron for this past season. The former Spartan is now in the transfer portal once again.

Lawrence Hattar was not a big name in the transfer portal, whatsoever. The Livonia, Mich. native has played for Division II Ferris State since 2022, but at 6-foot-5, 335 pounds, he’s a big body at a position of need along the interior offensive line.
