A person died on Monday after a car collided with a turning Publix 18-wheeler in Miami Gardens, resulting in a multi-hour road closure.

MIAMI - One person died overnight in a Miami Gardens crash involving a Publix truck. It happened at NW 183 Street and NW Miami Court, next to a Publix distribution center. The cameras at Avi Vaknin's business captured the crash. He said his phone lit up with notifications.

The Publix tractor trailer was leaving a Publix distribution center in Miami Gardens and attempting to cross Miami Gardens Drive when the truck, going fast, crashed into it, according to Herald news partner CBS News Miami. The crash’s impact caused the truck, which was heading eastbound, to be wedged under the 18-wheeler.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – A car crash Monday morning resulted in a vehicle getting wedged under a Publix 18-wheeler in Miami Gardens. Sky 10 was above the area of Miami Gardens Drive and U.S. 441 shortly after 6 a.m. as a wrecker was being used to pull the vehicle out from under the 18-wheeler.
