Fayed, the late Egyptian billionaire and owner of Harrods whose son died with Princess Diana, has been accused of rape by multiple women.

Twenty women accused Fayed of sexual assault, five of whom said he raped them while they worked at Harrods, the high-end London store he owned. He died in 2023.

Five women said Al Fayed, who died in 2023 at age 94, had raped them, while others detailed alarming accounts of sexual assault and harassment while they were working at Harrods.

When the game ended, the lights dimmed in the seating areas as the spotlight beamed on Taurasi at center court. Before she addressed the crowd, a tribute video for Taurasi played on the screen above. It was the same video that the Mercury social media account posted to X on Thursday afternoon, teasing a potential retirement announcement.

The crowd interrupted Taurasi when she first said "If it is the last time." Taurasi responded with her trademark dry humor and a dig at former UConn teammate Sue Bird, who retired two years ago and was in attendance: "I think they tricked Sue with that one last time."

Diana Taurasi’s Phoenix Mercury teammates wore her No. 3 jersey for introductions, a nod to the possibility this was the final home game in the 20-year career of the player widely considered the greatest women’s player of all-time.
