A winter storm had blanketed much of Arkansas in snow by Thursday evening while leaving residents in southern parts of the state coping with a mix of ice and rain.

The Arkansas Department of Transportation has sent its Strike Team and also snow plow and salt brine tanker drivers to work alongside the Louisiana Departmet

The winter storm will roll into Arkansas Thursday, and it is expected to bring major impacts, including freezing rain, icy road conditions and possibly up to 10 inches of snow in some parts of the state.
