HBO’s The Penguin only exists because The Batman was wildly successful and audiences really gravitated to Colin Farrell’s against-type rendition of Oswald Cobblepot, or Oz Cobb as he’s known in this universe.

That filmed ended with the Riddler (Paul Dano) blowing up a sea wall in Gotham and flooding a poor part of the city,

But one complete scene stood out to me in the finale as a deliberate set up for where we might see Oz in The Batman: Part 2. Almost as if Matt Reeves asked LeFranc to include this one sequence, just to lay the groundwork for a story he’d like to explore down the line.

The Penguin finale might have secretly introduced The Batman 2's villains. During the quick courtroom tete-a-tete between Oz (Colin Farrell) and Councilman Hady (Rhys Coiro), you may notice a peculiar print around the walls of the courtroom.

Although The Penguin was always tipped to be a one-and-done miniseries, there’s already talk of a potential season 2. While LeFranc, Farrell, and The Batman director Matt Reeves mull over the idea, at least fans know Cobb is locked in to appear in The Batman: Part II,

While we're at it, let's go ahead and greenlight a Two-Face TV series that brings a completely new take on courtroom dramas, and doesn't wait until the very end of the season to throw the acid in his face and take him to the darks side. Just don't expect a Catwoman series, because HBO boss Casey Bloys already shot that idea down.
