One dead at North Carolina’s North Hills mall as Raleigh police rush to scene of ‘active shooter’ - The shooting reportedly took place in an affluent part of Raleigh

George Colom, the man accused of shooting two other men in Raleigh’s North Hills, has a criminal history. He was the executive chef of Coquette, the restaurant where Friday’s shooting took place.

The man who died in the shooting was identified as Jonathan Schaffer by his father and later by Raleigh police. On Friday night, the police department also identified the injured victim as 24-year-old Jonathan Aguilar Vega and said he had been released from the hospital after treatment.
