Michelle Obama and Nancy Pelosi, the longtime Speaker of the House, have both stated that they will not be attending Trump's inauguration. Trump and Pelosi have been at odds for a number of years. Nancy Pelosi will not be present at the January 20 inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump.

Pelosi, who attended Trump’s first inauguration, has said that she will “never forgive” him for trying to overturn the 2020 election results. A spokesperson for the former Speaker recently confirmed to The Hill that she would not attend Trump’s second inauguration. The spokesperson did not provide details on her absence.

Lawmakers chose not to attend the festivities surrounding the incoming Republican president for various reasons, as Democrats lick their wounds following the election.
