The Hoosiers (13-3, 4-1 Big Ten) have won five consecutive games entering their 8 p.m. tipoff Saturday against Iowa (11-4, 2-2 Big Ten) at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City, Iowa.

They lost 85-60 in what was the most lopsided conference loss during the regular season of the Mike Woodson era. Not including the postseason, it was IU's fourth Big Ten loss by 20 points or more during Woodson's tenure and the 12th loss of 15 points or more.

Mackenzie Holmes, Caitlin Clark and other stars for Indiana and Iowa have moved on, but this game is still important in the Big Ten race.

The defeat marked Indiana’s largest in a true road game since Jan. 19, 2018, in a 28-point loss at Michigan State. It was the Hoosiers’ second-largest margin in a loss this season, and each of their four defeats have come by 16 or more points.

Indiana women’s basketball got tripped up at Assembly Hall on Thursday night in a disappointing 68-54 loss to Illinois. The Illini led for all but 86 seconds as they ended an eight-game losing streak at Indiana that dated back in 2012.

It was a good week for Illinois basketball in the state of Indiana. Illini men’s basketball beat Indiana by 25 on Tuesday. On Thursday, Illinois women’s basketball beat the Hoosiers 68-54. Kendall Bostic led the Illini with 21 points.
