President Donald Trump has signed an executive order that calls for spacing out childhood vaccines into separate medical visits and splitting the combined measles, mumps and rubella vaccine into three different shots.

As well as recommending single-dose shots for measles, mumps and rubella, Trump's order drops the number of childhood vaccines from 18 to 11.

The order advocates separating the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine into 3 different single-disease shots and administering all childhood immunizations at separate appointments whenever possible.
