As of Jan. 1, the state’s minimum wage for employees 16 and older will increase to $16.66 an hour, a 2.35 percent increase from 2024. The wage for 14- and 15-year-olds will be $14.16 an hour.
The nearly 400 beds set to disappear in 2025 represents a “significant” portion of the city’s roughly 900 shelter beds, Tacoma's deputy city manager said.
