The Winter Park ski train will run more often and cost less to ride this season. The ski train, revived by Amtrak in 2017 as the Winter Park Express, has proven popular in recent years. It’s also been expensive to ride — up to $139 for a round trip between Union Station in Denver and the resort.

And then skiers found out the price—from $80 for a round-trip fare, and sometimes as pricey as $140—which made riding the train little more than a novelty for most. It also only operated on the weekends, making logistics tricky.

The Winter Park Express train will expand to 69 roundtrips over the winter, 29 more than during the 2024 season, and add a new stop in Fraser.
