State Area are heading to the polls for the 2024 general election today.Polls are open for 15 hours on Election Day in New York and 14 in New Jersey and Connecticut. All three states offered early in-person voting in the days leading up.

New Jersey’s first weekend of early in-person voting saw record turnout. There were 135,075 early in-person voters across the Garden State on Saturday and 111,928 on Sunday. Of the 1,098,115 issued, about 611,535 vote by mail ballots were also returned so far, according to state election officials.
