Mayor Karen Bass criticized Kristin Crowley for sending firefighters home before a blaze devastated the Pacific Palisades neighborhood.

Bass, who has been criticized for being out of the country when the wildfires began to rage across L.A. County, said Crowley was being fired "in the best interest of L.A.'s public safety"
