John Klingberg is closing in on an NHL return, and the Maple Leafs, Senators and Oilers are all reportedly interested in the veteran D-man.

Defenceman John Klingberg appears to be looking to make a return to the NHL, and the Vancouver Canucks are one of the teams taking a look at bringing him onto their team.

Injuries usually pile up as a season progresses, which has been the case for the Maple Leafs — especially on the backend. Veteran defensemen Jake McCabe (upper body) and Jani Hakanpaa (knee) are currently on injured reserve, meaning it wouldn't be shocking if general manager Brad Treliving wanted to add another defender shortly.

Nonetheless, Klingberg has his eyes set on a return to the NHL. The Wild did not sign him after the 2023 season and he signed a one-year deal with the Toronto Maple Leafs. He played 14 games for the Leafs during the 2023-24 season before his injury.
