Jerry West is about to be enshrined in the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame for a third time. He is in once for his playing career and once as a member of the 1960 USA Olympic team that won gold. This time, he is going in as a contributor for his work in NBA front offices.

Even though Lakers great Jerry West passed away in June, he will be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame yet again next month.

Jerry West, an iconic figure in basketball history, is set to make a monumental return to the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2024, being honored for the third time, this time for his exceptional contributions as an executive.

Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar are among the Los Angeles Lakers greats that will honor Jerry West at his third Hall of Fame induction.

The Lakers will pay tribute to the late Jerry West, one of the greatest players and executives in NBA history, all throughout this coming season.

The purple band on the left shoulder of the Lakers' uniforms has No. 44 in gold at the center. West played his entire 14-year NBA career for the Lakers, becoming one of the greatest scorers and most versatile guards of his era while earning 14 All-Star selections and earning the nickname "Mr. Clutch."

The Los Angeles Lakers will honor Jerry West by wearing a No. 44 band on their jerseys during the 2024-25 season.

West, who played all 14 years of his Hall of Fame career with the Lakers and later served as a coach and highly successful executive with the organization, died in June at 86.
