The cold wave-like situation in India is likely to grow intense in the coming days. Rainfall is predicted in Delhi-NCR and nearby regions, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and other states in the next three days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Punjab regions are expected to witness cold day conditions on December 27 and 28, said IMD.

As dense fog covered parts of Rajasthan on Thursday, the meteorological department has warned of rain, hailstorms, and cold waves in the coming days.

IMD forecasts cold waves, dense fog, rain, and slight temperature fluctuations across Northwest India, including Delhi with improved air quality.

Light rain and drizzle in Telangana due to cyclonic activity, with temperatures expected to rise above normal.

As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a western disturbance currently situated near Punjab and adjoining areas is expected to bring light rain or snowfall to isolated parts of the western Himalayan region.

The cold wave conditions will grip parts of Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh too till the end of the week

As per the IMD forecast, clear skies are expected on Thursday before rain returns on December 27. On Wednesday morning, Lucknow recorded 0.5 mm of rainfall, resulting in a 1.5-degree Celsius drop in daytime temperatures.
