NBC News’ Craig Melvin has been named co-anchor to Savannah Guthrie for the TODAY show for the 7 and 8 a.m. hours. He will begin Monday, Jan. 13. Hoda Kotb, who announced in September she was leaving the show, will sign off on Friday, Jan. 10.

Craig Melvin, who has been with NBC News for nearly 14 years, is moving into the co-anchor seat alongside Savannah Guthrie for the 7 and 8 a.m. hours. He will begin Monday, Jan. 13, after Hoda says goodbye to her morning duties on Friday, Jan. 10.

Melvin will also continue to co-host the “Today” show’s third hour with Dylan Dreyer, Sheinelle Jones, and SUNY Oswego alumnus Al Roker. The fourth hour, co-hosted by Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager, will become “Today with Jenna & Friends” with a rotating cast of co-hosts until a permanent replacement is selected.

Hoda, 60, revealed on Thursday morning's show that January 10 will be her final day on air, as her cohost Savannah Guthrie confirmed which member of the Today family would be taking over for her.
