Chloe Childress, a counselor at Camp Mystic, died during the flooding in Hunt, Texas, according to a representative of her high school.

The organization was hosting 750 campers when overnight floods hit on Friday, July 4, according to Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick. Though portions of the camp were evacuated, 27 girls, counselors were reported missing following the initial flash flood emergency that rocked Hunt that morning.

Dozens of people have died after heavy rain pounded Kerr County, Texas, early Friday, leading to "catastrophic" flooding, the sheriff said.

Parts of the state devastated by flash floods that left at least 82 dead were braced for more heavy rains as forecasters extended flood warnings through Monday evening.
