Endeavour's Shaun Evans will appear in the lead role of a new ITV espionage thriller titled Betrayal, with filming starting next year.

ITV has commissioned a new espionage thriller which will be set in the clandestine world of MI5 and star Endeavor, Until I Kill You and Vigil star Shaun Evans.

EXCLUSIVE: ITV has greenlit an espionage thriller starring and produced by Vigil’s Shaun Evans from Mammoth Screen. Evans plays John Hughes in Betrayal, which is set in the clandestine world of MI5. Hughes joined MI5 during the war on terror and was at the forefront of averting the biggest terrorist plots on UK soil.

Shaun Evans, famed for his roles in Endeavour, Vigil and Until I Kill You, has landed the lead role in ITV's upcoming thriller, Betrayal. In the series, he will portray John Hughes, a spy who grapples with averting "a serious and dark threat to national security while making sense of his own place in the world".
