Here is what is open and closed on Election Day: For New Jersey residents, Election Day is one of 12 state holidays and is not a federal holiday. The next holiday in November is Veterans Day that falls on Monday, Nov. 11. All retail stores will continue to conduct business on Election Day.

More than 1.9 million New Jersey voters have already voted early in person or cast mail-in ballots in Tuesday's general election.

This was the first time the state has had early in-person voting for a presidential election since its implementation in 2021.
