STORY: South Korea's feminist 4B movement is built on four principles: no dating, no marriage, no childbirth and no sex.And it's sparked an interest among U.S. women - after Donald Trump's U.S. presidential election victory.

After Trump's win, there are growing calls among American women to boycott men. They're drawing inspiration from 4B, a South Korean feminist movement that rejects dating, sex, marriage and childbirth.

Driven by gender inequality, sexism, and a backlash against male privilege, the movement reflects a growing global trend of resisting patriarchal norms.

The radical feminist 4B movement took root in a culture where women face domestic violence and insidious spy-cam sexploitation, as well as the "double burden" of work and family.

It’s unclear. South Korea’s birth rate has been low for years for a range of factors, and the 4B movement is considered a fringe movement. In 2016, when the "National Birth Map" was launched, it was about 1.2 births per woman; it has since slid to 0.72, the lowest in the world.

When exit polls began pointing to a clear victory for Donald Trump in the US presidential election Nov. 5, Google registered a surge in search interest for the term “4B movement.” The phrase refers to an unstructured and leaderless feminist campaign that began in South Korea five years ago as a protest against the perceived oppression of women by men.

Young liberal women across TikTok and Instagram are discussing and sharing information about the South Korean feminist movement, in which straight women refuse to marry, have children, date or have sex with men.
